教学目标:
一、语言能力
1. 学生能听懂、会说、会读、会写单词eleventh, eighth, together, birthday, April, game等;
2. 能理解和运用句型: When’s your birthday? It’s on ... What do you do on... I usually...;
3. 能正确地理解课文,流利地朗读课文并尝试复述;
4. 能有条理地给他人的生日提出建议。

能通过学习绘本故事,学会如何有效给他人提供建议,从而对分享的表层含义和深层意义进行深度理解。

1. 能根据问题链,提取整合文本所需要的关键信息,锻炼比较、分析等逻辑思维能力;
2. 能根据教师提示,从when, what, how等方面有条理地阐述生日,锻炼思维的广阔性和逻辑性;

Step1. Pre-reading
1. About me
T: Since I’m your new teacher. Let’s know more about me. This is a rap song. Please listen carefully.
RAP SONG: Hello, everybody. Just look at me. Nice to meet you. Can you see? Eyes on it, who is she? She’s your teacher, Ada is me. Let me show you funny things. It’s time to dance. Are you ready? 123, ABC. Left right, left right. I like reading, what do you like? (互动) It’s time for class. Let’s get start. Now we are friends, just follow my lead. I say Ada, you say Hooray. Ada, hooray. Ada, hooray.
2. About the book(绘本P1、2)
T: Well done! Do you remember what I like doing?
S: You like reading.
T: Yes, they are reading a picture book. Let’s read it together and tell me “What is the picture book about?”
S: It’s about birthday. (教授 birthday,揭题)
T: Do you like birthdays? Why?
S: …(调动学生已知)
T: Whose birthdays?
S: Tex and Indi. (学生认识主人公)
T: Are they happy? Why?
S: No, because they have to have their birthday together. They are twins. (揭晓绘本矛盾,解决并猜测故事发展)
Step2. While- reading(进入story time学习)
1. Su Hai’s birthday
a. Listen and find
T: Actually, I know a set of twins in our book. Do you know who they are?
S: Su Hai and Su Yang.
T: Yes, let’s know about their birthday. May be they can help. Before that, what do you want to know?
S: What when how why who…
T: Let’s listen and find “ What aspects are mentioned?”
b. Read, underline and learn
T: Good job! This time, open your books, read for the key words, then talk in pairs. Please read loudly and use different ways to stress the key words. If you meet any new words, no worries. Use phonics and guess the meaning from the content.
S: Pair work.
T: Let’s check.
补充问题:what are they eating? Who do they have a big dinner with? When do they play with kitty the cat? After that, after what?(要求学生关注细节)
c. Reading time
d. Be Su Hai&Su Yang to help
T: We know so much about the twins’ birthday. Importantly, are they happy on their birthday?
S: Yes.
T: Pair work, one be Su Hai and the other be Su Yang. Give advice to Indi and Tex.
T: Attention: The more words, emotions and actions, the more persuasive you will be.
S: Pair work

2. Mike’s birthday(Be Liu Tao&Yang Ling to help)
T: What a pity! But being refused is a part of life. Don’t be sad, let’s try again. Never give up halfway.
A party… oh Mike, he always has a party. May be that helps. This time, Miss Li asks Liu Tao ang Yang Ling to retell Mike’s birthday. Can you be Liu Tao and Yang Ling?
Please Work in 4, one be Liu Tao, one be Yang Ling, and the other two can be Indi and Tex. Try to role play. Here are some steps for you. Read freely, collect key words, rearrange them logically and write it down on your task paper(任务单见板书后). (提醒学生关注细节)
S: Group work
T: Where does he have the party? When do they buy? Who goes to buy the birthday cake? When do they eat the cake and play some games? (学生小组合作时,教师可在帮忙时补充询问)

S role play with masks on.
Indi and Tex: Thank you, but Tim and Helen are not Mike’s twin brother or sister… (让学生边听边演出Indi和Tex的对话)
Step3. Post- reading
1. Recall the picture book(绘本P3、4、5)
T: This is a tough work. If you were mum, what will you do?
S: …(学生自由发挥)
T: Let’s see how they solve it. (看绘本后续)
T: How do they solve it? What do they do? Do they have fun?
Indi and Tex: This was a fun party. I’m glad we share our party...
2. Think and discuss
T: What do you think of their birthday?
S: It’s a _____________ birthday. (学生自由发挥)
T: A sharing birthday. (揭题) (绘本封面)
T: They are willing to share, why?
S: Because they love and care about each other.
T: Sharing is love and caring. It promotes communication and creates a harmonious environment. Sharing is fun. I think Su Hai, Su Yang and Mike will like this birthday, too.
Homework
T: We’ve finish the picture book with Miss Li, and here is the homework from Miss Li:
1. Listen and read story time.
2. Write a short passage about your birthday and share it with your friends.
3. Read more pictures books about Birthday.
